Dr.Zakir Hussain is a well-qualified and experienced Public Health Specialist and Epidemiologist having a total of 22 years of working experience as a Public Health Specialist/Epidemiologist.  the key experience areas are: FETP-Program, Disease Surveillance, Outbreak Response, Data Analysis, Technical Report Writing, Planning and Conducting Trainings for Healthcare professionals, Teaching and Mentoring, Public Health Research, and M&E , Health System Management; Community Health Programs (Maternal and Child Health; Expanded Program on Immunization; Family Planning; Polio Eradication Initiative; Nutrition; TB DOTs); Project Management.

Currently working with the Global Health Development/Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (GHD/EMPHNET) as Country Office Manager at the Country Office in Pakistan. Associated as a collaborator with the Global Burden of Disease collaborator network managed by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington, USA.

Performing as an expert Abstract, Manuscript reviewer for many Public Health Journals and International conferences and Research proposal reviewer for the National Research Institute Pakistan. Presented research work at multiple international conferences. A good number of Publications in international peer review Journals. Member of world health organization consultant roster for Polio and the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) since 2015.
