             Dr. Najim Alshahrani is a distinguished academic and researcher with advanced degrees in public health from prestigious institutions, including King Abdulaziz University, the University of Sydney, and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. As an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jeddah, Dr. Alshahrani has established himself as a leader in epidemiology, infectious diseases, travel medicine, and health promotion.

His contributions to global health initiatives, such as the Global Burden of Disease Study and Saudi monkeypox research, reflect his dedication to addressing emergent diseases and advancing public health policy. His research primarily focuses on the epidemiological surveillance of influenza and other respiratory viruses, as well as the effectiveness of vaccines among Hajj pilgrims.

Dr. Alshahrani is passionate about leveraging technology to promote healthier lifestyles and has pioneered projects using mobile platforms to increase physical activity in Saudi Arabia. He also founded the SBPM platform, an innovative academic network supporting public health students and preventive medicine residents.

A prolific author, Dr. Alshahrani has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles and holds an h-index of 16. His excellence in research has earned him several prestigious awards, including the Best Resident Researcher Award (2021, 2022) and the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Best Researcher Award (2022, 2023, 2024). Notably, he was appointed among the top 2% of cited scientists globally by Elsevier in 2024. He frequently presents his work at national and international conferences and serves as a reviewer and editor for leading medical journals.

As a committed mentor, Dr. Alshahrani actively guides undergraduate and postgraduate students, shaping the next generation of public health professionals. He is an accredited Research Mentor by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and an active member of professional bodies such as the Saudi Public Health Association, the International Society of Travel Medicine, and the Asian Pacific Travel Health Society.
